Beeswax and its Key Role in CBD Salve Production
No hive can function without its Beeswax, and ours is no exception. In a regular hive busy worker bees use it to make a honeycomb in which to store the colony’s honey. Our worker bees use it to manufacture our popular range of salves, contributing to them many of its health benefits and other properties.
Much more than just a solidifying agent, and packed as it is with antibacterial agents, beeswax has a long history of effective use in the treatment of many skin issues, including burns and wounds, psoriasis, dermatitis, boils and diaper rash.

It has been found to be far superior in managing sensitive skin than synthetic products, minimizing the chances of irritation while also providing soothing benefits.
The main beeswax properties are
- Ability to soften and lubricate your skin
- Prevents loss of moisture
- Acts as an antiseptic, helping protect you skin from pathogens
- Provides your skin with an effective surface barrier
- Is a source of vitamin A, helping skin regenerate after damage
A few people have a beeswax allergy, producing reactions such as swelling and redness, itchiness or rash, or a burning sensation. If you are new to beeswax-based products you should, before general use, make an initial patch test. Discontinue use in the event of a reaction and consult with your physician.
To clean beeswax from your skin always use an oil-based cleanser, as it is insoluble in water.
