Understanding a CBD Certificate of Analysis (COA)

At Bee Well, we believe in transparency. That’s why every batch of our CBD products is tested by a third-party lab—and we make those results publicly available through links from each product page. These lab reports are called Certificates of Analysis or COAs.

What Is a COA?

A COA is an official report from a licensed testing laboratory, showing exactly what’s in a product. It verifies that the product contains the amount of CBD advertised, is free from harmful contaminants, and meets federal legal limits for THC.

How to Read a COA

Here are the key sections to look for on a COA:

  • Sample ID / Batch Number: This matches the batch of product you purchased.
  • Cannabinoid Profile: Lists compounds like CBD, THC, CBG, etc., usually shown in both mg/mL and as a percentage by weight.
  • Total THC: This is the number to check for compliance. Legal CBD products must contain less than 0.3% THC by weight.
  • Contaminant Testing: Shows whether the product passed tests for pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents, and microbes (if applicable).

Stress-Less Example

Our Stress-Less roll-on was tested by ProVerde Laboratories, a leading ISO-accredited lab. The total THC content was found to be:

0.0524% by weight

This is well below the federal legal limit of 0.3%, confirming its compliance.
