Oregano and Tea Tree (Melaleuca) oils are effective in combating athlete's foot, while clove bud oil is more focused on harder-to-treat toenail fungus. Cinnamon oil  is able to break down the protective layer of bacteria which normally surrounds active foot infections, allowing the other oils easier access to the fungus itself. Lavender contributes its own extensive anti-fungal properties to the potency of the mix.
